You want all the glamour of a high-end night out, but you want your guests to have a Beach View. Calusa Terrace at the JW Marriott Marco Island is a great canvas to build from the ground up.
This loving couple did not want the focus to be on dancing, so where we would normally put a dance floor, we set up a cozy lounge space. It was filled with blush couches, creme colored rugs, a few arm chairs and some oversized “trees” or houseplants so it felt like an outdoor living room. The dining tables were set all around the cozy space, and hosted 4 guests per table for a very intimate home-meal type of aura. The mirrored tables were well dressed with copper- toned glass charger plates, elegant menus, gold flatware, crystal water glasses, it felt like you were using Grandma’s best china.
A few of the tables were nestled up next to a greenery wall, with an overhead trellis and votives hanging down from overhead. I wanted it to feel like they were sitting in an intimate booth of a restaurant and since they only had 25 guests, we wanted to fill up the space so it didn’t feel empty.
One of the highlights of the ceremony was when we brought in special flooring so we could roll out an actual Baby Grand Piano to the Wedding Ceremony Lawn. What a WOW moment to see a piano, out of its element, on a grassy lawn, dressed in garden blooms. It was a magical moment when he tickled those ivories as the Bride walked down the aisle.
